An intraocular lens having first and second viewing elements can be preparedfor implantationaccording to methods for displacing the viewing elements relative to eachother as disclosed herein. Insome embodiments, the anterior viewing element connected to an anteriortranslation member and theposterior viewing element connected to a posterior translation member. Theanterior translation memberand the posterior translation member connected at an apex. The anteriortranslation member capable ofmoving an optic of the anterior viewing element relative to an optic of theposterior viewing along an opticalaxis of the lens such that the anterior optic and the posterior optic arepositioned further apart when theanterior optic is in the accommodated position than when the anterior optic isin the unaccommodatedposition.
