The invention is directed to a potassium containing preparation or potassium bolus for the prevention or treatment of potassium deficit and optionally other deficit of minerals in ruminants, a process for the production thereof as well as the use thereof. The present invention makes it possible to provide a potassium containing preparation or potassium bolus with a high content of up to 70wt.-% of potassium salt, based on the total weight of the potassium containing preparation,by adding only a relatively small amount of calcium chloride (15 to 40 wt.-%) and water (10 to 22wt.-%) to the potassium salt.Linvention concerne une préparation contenant du potassium ou un bolus de potassium destiné à la prévention ou au traitement du déficit en potassium et éventuellement dautres déficits en minéraux chez les ruminants, son procédé de production ainsi que son utilisation. La présente invention permet de produire une préparation contenant du potassium ou un bolus de potassium ayant une teneur élevée en sel de potassium allant jusquà 70 % en poids, sur la base du poids total de la préparation contenant du potassium, en ajoutant seulement au sel de potassium une quantité relativement petite de chlorure de calcium (15 à 40 % en poids) et deau (10 à 22 % en poids).
