PURPOSE: A medicinal composition for the treatment and prevention of bone metaboilc disease is provided to use a processed ginseng extract as an active component.CONSTITUTION: Health functional food for the treatment and prevention of bone metabolic disease contains a panax plant extract as an active component while the sum of ginsenoside Rg3, Rk1, Rg5 is higher than the sum of Rb2, Rc, Rd. Panax plants are plants selected from artificially processed Panax ginseng, Panax quinquefolia, Panax notoginseng, Panax vietnamensis, Panax japonicus, Panax elegatior, Panax wangianus, Panax bipinnatifidus, and Panax pseudo-ginseng. The panax plants are processed ginseng in which medicinal components are increased a ratio of ginsenoside(Rg3+Rg5)/(Rc+Rd+Rb_1+Rb_2) to be 1.0 or more by treating ginseng at a high temperature ranged of 120-180 deg. C for 0.5-20 hours. The extract is: water low grade alcohol such as methanol, ethanol, butanol, etc. or a mixed solvent thereof. The bone metabolic diseases are osteoporosis, Paget disease, periodontal disease, metastatic cancer, or rheumatoid arthritis.COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013본 발명은 골다공증 개선 및 예방용 건강기능식품에 관한 것으로, 진세노사이드 Rg3, Rg5, Rk1의 함량의 합이 진세노사이드 Rb1, Rb2, Rc, Rd의 함량의 합보다 더 큰 파낙스속 식물 추출물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 것으로, 상세하게는 본 발명의 가공된 인삼 추출물은 RANKL 유도 파골세포 분화 및 골흡수 관련 유전자 발현을 억제하는 효과가 있음을 확인하였고, 계속된 연구에서 RANKL 처리하여 파골세포로 분화시킨 세포에서 가공 인삼인 선삼의 추출물이 TRAP(+) 다핵세포생성 억제 효과를 나타내었으며, 파골세포 관련 인자인TRAP, NFATc1, JNK 등의 유전자 발현을 억제함을 확인하여 골다공증 및 골질환에 유용하게 쓰일 수 있다.
