A method of navigation for a medical device, including, but not limited to, a sinuplasty device, within a portion of a patients body, the method including mapping a route through a three-dimensional model of the portion patients body using a target location, manipulating the three-dimensional model so the field of view matches a real-time image, determining whether the target location has been reached, comparing the field of view of the three-dimensional model, determining whether the field of view includes route and non-route passageways through the patients body, and highlighting and displaying these passageways with different visual markers.
