PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method effective in treating nerve growth factor (NGF)-related disorders, including asthma, multiple sclerosis, arthritis, erythematosus and psoriasis without any significant side effect on the immune system of a patient.SOLUTION: The method of treating the disorders comprises administering to a human patient an effective amount of an anti-human NGF (anti-hNGF) monoclonal antibody capable of binding hNGF with an affinity in the nanomolar range, and inhibiting the binding of hNGF to human TrkA (hTrkA) in vivo.
