The present invention relates to an enzymatic polymerization process that comprises the steps of: (a) adding to a reactor from 10 to 3000 parts by weight of a monomer, which is mixed with a pH and salinity buffer or regulator solution; (b) adding to 50 parts of water from 1 to 10 parts of a solution of a strong base in order to dissolve the multi-substituted phenyl monomer and maintaining same in aqueous dispersion; (c) conditioning the above reaction mixture at a temperature of between 5 DEG C and 60 DEG C, stirring said reaction mixture at a speed of between 10 and 1000 rpm; (d) adding an oxidizing agent whilst the solution is being heated and stirred; (e) adding the enzyme units in a quantity ranging from 0.1% to 40.0% by weight relative to the quantity of multi-substituted phenyl precursor monomer; (f) maintaining the reaction conditions for such a period of time as the reaction lasts, which period of time may be from 1 hour to 72 hours; (g) precipitating the mixture, changing the polarity of the medium upon completion of the polyoxidation reaction for the separation and purification of the multi-substituted polymer, and to that end a cold polar solvent is added; (h) leaving the mixture resulting from the above step (g) to settle for 12 hours at ambient temperature. The present invention also relates to the polymer resulting from the enzymatic polymerization process, which has been synthesized by polyoxidation of the multi-substituted phenyl monomer that is a benzene derivative substituted in at least one position and in up to four of its positions by various functional chemical groups.La presente invención se refiere a un proceso de polimerización enzimática que comprende las etapas de: (a) agregar a un reactor de 10 a 3000 partes en peso de un monómero, el cual se mezcla con una solución amortiguadora o reguladora de pH y de salinidad; (b) añadir en 50 partes de agua de 1 a 10 partes de una solución de una base fuerte para disolver el monómero de fenilo multi-
