A functional food for preventing or treating hyperlipidemia and metabolic syndrome contains Homonoia riparia Lour. extract as an active ingredient.본 발명은 수양류(水柳)(HomonoiaripariaLour.) 추출물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 비만, 고지혈증 및 대사증후군의 치료 또는 예방에 관한 것으로, 본 발명의 수양류 추출물은 체내 지방 흡수에 관련된 중요한 효소인 췌장지방분해효소(pancreatic Lipase) 작용을 효과적으로 억제하여 지방산 재흡수을 방지하고, 동시에 인산디에스테라제(Phosphodiesterase； PDE) 작용을 억제하여 지방 분해 효능도 촉진하는 것을 확인하였고, 또한, 마우스 지방 조직을 분해하는 것을 확인하였으므로 비만, 고지혈증 및 대사증후군의 치료, 개선 또는 예방에 효과적일 수 있다.
