PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of preventing or treating reactivation of M. tuberculosis infection and to provide a method of shortening the time course of chemotherapy against M. tuberculosis infection.SOLUTION: There is provided a method of preventing reactivation of active or latent M. tuberculosis infections by administering a pharmaceutical composition comprising a nucleic acid encoding an Mtb72f fusion protein, or an Mtb72f fusion protein or an immunogenic fragment thereof, for example together with an adjuvant, in which the Mtb72f is formed from 2 Mycobacterium tuberculosis proteins Mtb32 and Mtb39, and is constructed by fusing Mtb39 and the N and C terminal portions of Mtb32 as Mtb32 C-terminal end-Mtb39-Mtb32 N-terminal end. The Mtb72f nucleic acid or fusion protein can be administered with one or more chemotherapeutic agents effective against M. tuberculosis infection. The methods also provide of shortening the time course of a chemotherapeutic regimen against M. tuberculosis infection.【課題】結核菌（M. tuberculosis）感染の再活性化を予防または治療する方法及び結核菌感染に対する化学療法の期間を短縮する方法の提供。【解決手段】２種の結核菌タンパク質Ｍｔｂ３９と、Ｍｔｂ３２のＮ末端及びＣ末端部分を、Ｍｔｂ３２のＣ末端－Ｍｔｂ３９－Ｍｔｂ３２のＮ末端のように融合させたＭｔｂ７２ｆ融合タンパク質をコードする核酸、又はＭｔｂ７２ｆ融合タンパク質若しくはその免疫原性断片を、例えばアジュバントと共に含んでなる医薬組成物を投与することにより、活発なまたは潜伏中の結核菌感染の再活性化を防止する方法。Ｍｔｂ７２ｆ核酸又は融合タンパク質は、結核菌感染に対して有効な１以上の化学療法剤と共に投与することができる。また、結核菌感染に対する化学療法レジメンの期間を短縮する。【選択図】なし
