ADDITIVE AND METHOD FOR RESISTING THE HARMFUL EXPOSURE TO FREEZING AND THAWING AND RESISTING TO THE HARMFUL EXPOSURE TO THE EXAMINATION OF BINDING BINDERS
1. An additive for resistance to the harmful effects of freezing and thawing and resistance to the harmful effects of delamination for an astringent composition containing an aqueous suspension containing a water-insoluble super absorbent polymer and swellable polymer microspheres. 2. The additive according to claim 1, wherein the ratio of the amount of swellable polymer microspheres to the amount of water-insoluble super absorbent polymer is from about 100: 1 to about 3: 1 by weight. The additive according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the ratio of the amount of swellable polymer microspheres to the amount of water-insoluble superabsorbent polymer is from about 30: 1 to about 6: 1 by weight. The additive according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the swellable polymer microspheres contain at least one of the following: (I) a polymer that is at least one of polyethylene, polypropylene, polymethyl methacrylate, poly-o-chlorostyrene, polyvinyl chloride, polyvinylidene chloride, polyacrylonitrile, polymethacrylonitrile, polystyrene, or copolymers or mixtures thereof; or (II) copolymers of vinylidene chloride and acrylonitrile, polyacrylonitrile and methacrylonitrile, polyvinylidene chloride and polyacrylonitrile, or vinyl chloride and vinylidene chloride, or mixtures thereof. 5. The additive according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the non-swollen, swellable polymer microspheres have an average diameter that is less than or equal to about 100 microns, optionally less than, or equal to about 24 microns, optionally less than, or equal to about 16 μm, optionally less than, or equal to approximately 9 μm. 6.
