PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid abnormal situations resulting from a battery failure and a defective operation unit in a system of driving the operation unit with a battery.SOLUTION: The communication system includes a communication unit, an operation unit, and a management server. The operation unit is driven by a battery, and sends operational information of a user and information on the characteristics of the battery to the communication unit. The management server manages the operational history of the operation unit on the basis of the operational information sent from the operation unit via the communication unit. The arithmetic part 4a of the management server determines an estimated integrated value of power consumption made since the start of using the battery, the value including the unique integrated value of the current consumption of the battery made by the operation of the operation unit. A determination part 4b determines the remaining level of the battery and whether the battery and the operation unit are defective, on the basis of the characteristic value of the characteristic information and the estimated integrated value.
