An oral and dental care and cleaning agent comprising 1-20 wt% of an aqueous dispersion of at least one phosphate-containing and/or phosphonate-containing polyurethane polymer； and 0.5-40 wt% anionic surfactant(s). The phosphonate-containing and/or phosphate-containing polyurethane preferable comprises at least one polyurethane constituent of Formula (I) or isophorone isocynanate； at least one ionic polyether constituent of Formula (II)； at least one non-ionic polyether constituent of Formula (III)； and at least one phosphonate-containing and/or phosphate-containing consistent of Formulae (IVa), (IVb) and/or (IVc)； Wherein R1-2 and R5 each independently represent a linear or branched C1-4 alkyl； R3-4 each independently represent H or a linear or branched C1-4 alkyl； X is physiologically compatible cation, particulalry sodium； a, b, c, d, e and x denote integers as defined herein. Methods comprising and uses of the dental care agent are disclosed in relation to the cleaning of teeth, reduction in staining of teeth and/or reduction of biofilm development on dental surfaces, reduction of adhesion of bacteria to dental surfaces and/or extnsion of the antibacterial action of antibacterial substances.
