The present invention relates to an X-ray imaging apparatus. The X-ray imaging apparatus according to the present invention comprises: a generator for irradiating X-rays to an object to be imaged a detector for detecting the X-rays transmitted through the object to be imaged a pressure pad interposed between the generator and the detector and a moving device for moving the pressure pad close to or away from the detector. The moving device includes: a motor a driving shaft which rotates by rotating the motor a first pulley a shifting belt which rotates by rotating the first pulley and to which the pressure pad is coupled and a clutch for selectively interconnecting the rotation of the driving shaft and the rotation of the first pulley by a power on/off operation. The X-ray imaging apparatus of the present invention interconnects the operation of the moving device and the movement of the pressure pad when power is turned on, and releases the interconnection between the operation of the moving device and the movement of the pressure pad when the power is turned off.
