The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a floating type mat by using the rhizome of a hygrophytic plant and, more specifically, to a floating type mat manufacturing method, which uses the rhizome of a hygrophytic plant, which includes the following steps of: arranging a predetermined accommodating space inside and arranging a planting frame which is formed to be open in the upper side； filling the internal accommodating space of the plating frame with a base material for growth and development at a predetermined height； planting multiple hygrophytic plants at a predetermined height in the plating frame which is filled with the base material for growth and development； forming the underground part of the hygrophytic plant in the floating type mat which is formed in the plating frame by the growth of the underground rhizome of the hygrophytic plant if the underground part of the hygrophytic plant grows to the predetermined height for predetermined time； and removing the plating frame. The present invention reduces costs in comparison with a case of planting on an existing separate floating body and prevents environment pollution from being generated by the floating body since the floating type mat which is composed of multiple hygrophytic plants can be manufactured by using self-floating power through a rhizome between hygrophytic plants by developing the enough underground part of the hygrophytic plant.본 발명은 습지식물의 근경을 이용한 부유형 매트의 제조방법에 관한 것으로서, 더욱 상세하게는 내부에 소정의 수용공간이 마련되고, 상면이 개방된 형태로 이루어진 식재용 틀이 마련되는 단계와, 식재용 틀의 내부 수용공간에 생육기반재가 소정의 높이로 채워지는 단계와, 상기 생육기반재가 채워진 상기 식재용 틀에 복수의 습지식물이 소정 깊이로 식재되는 단계와, 상기 습지식물의 지상부가 소정 기간 동안에 소정 높이로 성장되면, 상기 습지식물의 지하부 근경의 성장으로 인해 상기 습지식물의 지하부가 상기 식재용 틀 형태로 이루어진 부유형 매트로 제조되는 단계 및 상기 식재용 틀이 제거되는 단계를 포함하는 습지식물의 근경을 이용한 부유형 매트의 제조방법에 관한 것이다.본 발명에 따르면, 습지식물의 지하부를 충분히 발달시켜 습지식물들 간의 근경을 통한 자체 부유력을 이용해 복수의 습지식물들로 이루어진 부유형 매트를 제조할 수 있기에 기존의 별도의 부유체에 식재할 때에 비해 비용이 절감되고, 부유체로 인한 환경오염의 유발이 발생하는 것을 방지하는 효과가 있다.
