PURPOSE: A composition containing extracts of Eriobotrya japonica leaves and evening primrose seeds is provided to basically treat atopic dermatitis and to reduce allergic asthma or allergic rhinitis.CONSTITUTION: A composition for treating atopic dermatitis contains 20-50 parts by weight of an Eriobotrya japonica leaf extract and 10-40 parts by weight of an evening primrose seed extract as active ingredients. The composition is an emulsion form containing an aqueous layer and an oil layer. The extracts are dissolved in the aqueous layer. The aqueous layer contains 4% carbomer, polyquaternium, disodium laurase sulfosuccinate, cocamidopropyl betaine, dexpanthenol, silk amino acid, or 1,2-hexane diol. The oil layer includes jojoba oil, grape seed oil, or camellia oil. The oil layer further contains polysorbate 80 or rosemary oil.
