Embodiments provide systems for delivering cosmetic agents (CA) into the skin. The system includes a power source and at least two electrode assemblies (EA) which may be attached or otherwise incorporated into a facemask assembly that fits over the users face. Each EA is configured to be held in contact with a facial or other skin layer. Additionally, each EA includes an electrode that is coupled to the power source to receive an output current from the power source. At least one of the EAs in the pair includes a medium that carries a CA, the medium being provided on the at least one electrode assembly to enable the output current to deliver the cosmetic agent into the epidermal dermal or other layer of the skin. Embodiments are particularly useful for delivering CAs into a selected layer of the skin to produce a desired cosmetic effect.
