PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage type water heater capable of suppressing overshooting and undershooting of a hot water temperature in a mixing valve by controlling the mixing valve on the basis of a flow rate of hot water downstream of the mixing valve.SOLUTION: The storage type water heater is provided with a hot water reservoir 1 storing hot water, a mist generating device 9 jetting out hot water like a mist, a hot water supply terminal 8 supplying the hot water of the hot water reservoir 1, a tapping pipe 3 tapping high temperature water from a ceiling part of the hot water reservoir 1, a water supply pipe 70 supplying water from a water supply source, the hot water mixing valve 5 connecting the tapping pipe 3 and the water supply pipe 70 and mixing water and hot water, a hot water supply pipe 71 connecting the hot water supply terminal 8 and the hot water mixing valve 5, a flow rate detecting means 44 for detecting the flow rate of hot water passing through the hot water supply pipe 71, and a control means for controlling the hot water mixing valve 5.
