In a method for cell separation from blood or blood products, aftertransporting a predetermined quantity of a blood component from ablood bag inserted into a centrifuge along a product transport pathat a first flow speed, the composition of the transported bloodcomponent is detected by a first sensor provided at the producttransport path. After the first sensor has output a signalcorresponding to a predetermined composition of the blood component,a second sensor provided at the product transport path after thefirst sensor also detects the composition of the transported bloodcomponent, and the transporting and the spinning are terminated whenthe second sensor detects the predetermined composition and outputsa corresponding end signal.
