PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat generator for a smoking agent free of decomposition of a smoking chemical and temporal degradation of itself, and excellent in convenience.SOLUTION: The heat generator for a smoking agent includes a stick-like heat generating body contained in an incombustible container to touch the smoking chemical and an ignition part located at an end of the heat generating body, wherein the heat generating body is composed of 40 pts.wt. or more of a metal oxide, 5-15 pts.wt. of metal silicon having a mean particle diameter of 10 μm or less, 15-40 pts.wt. of a nitrate, and 1-5 pts.wt. of a binder.
