There is disclosed an aerosol-delivery system comprising: an aerosol-generation apparatus comprising: a receptacle for receiving a carrier； a heater； a carrier for an aerosol precursor comprising: a housing for location in said receptacle, said housing configured to provide a fluid pathway between a first end that is disposed in fluid engagement with an inlet of said aerosol-generating apparatus and a second end that is disposed in fluid engagement with an outlet of said aerosol-generating apparatus； and a fluid-transfer article located within said housing, the fluid-transfer article comprising: a first region for holding an aerosol precursor and for transferring said aerosol precursor to an activation surface of a second region of said article, said activation surface disposed at an end of said carrier configured for thermal interaction with a heater of said aerosol-generation apparatus； wherein said second region comprises at least one discontinuity in said activation surface to form a corresponding at least one channel between said activation surface and an opposing surface through which heat is conveyable to said activation surface from said heater, the or each channel configured for providing a fluid pathway across said activation surface, said fluid pathway across said activation surface forming a portion of said fluid pathway between said first end and said second end.L'invention concerne un système de distribution d'aérosol comprenant : un appareil de production d'aérosol comprenant : un réceptacle destiné à recevoir un support ； un élément chauffant ； un support destiné à un précurseur d'aérosol comprenant : un logement destiné à être placé dans ledit réceptacle, ledit logement étant conçu pour assurer un circuit de fluide entre une première extrémité qui est disposée en prise fluidique avec une entrée dudit appareil de production d'aérosol et une seconde extrémité qui est disposée en prise fluidique avec une sortie dudit appareil de production d'aérosol ；
