Provided is a method for reducing CD36 expression in cells. The method comprises bringing cells into contact with aromatic-cationic peptide in effective dose. The aromatic-cationic peptide comprises: one or more net positive charges； at least four amino acids； up to 20 amino acids； a relation that 3 pm becomes the maximum value of r+1 or less between the minimum number of net positive charges (pm) and the total number of amino acid residues (r)； and a relation that 2a becomes the maximum value of pt+1 or less between the minimum number of aromatic bases (a) and the total number of net positive charges (pt), wherein a relation that a is 1 and pt is 1 is excluded.COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
