PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide synthetic leather which has superior cushioning properties, has a surface resin layer having superior peeling resistance, has a beautiful appearance and further can prevent a dye from penetrating from a base fabric to the surface resin layer.SOLUTION: The synthetic leather has a resin layer formed on a surface of a double raschel fabric. The double raschel fabric comprises a front knitted fabric, a back knitted fabric and a pile layer that connects the front and back knitted fabrics. A fiber that constitutes the front knitted fabric is a polyester fiber dyed with a cationic dye. In addition, the resin layer is formed at the front knitted fabric side.
