A method of improving the viability, persistence and/or vigour of a host plant in the form of Lolium multiflorum Lolium xhybridum and Lolium perenne, (host grass) which includes the step of: artificially inoculating the host grass with an LpTG-3 endophyte RGT18 strain； so the LpTG-3 endophyte RGT18 strain can: produce at least one alkaloid or combination of alkaloids that provide the host grass with a favorable alkaloid profile； and/or protect the plant from biotic stresses.L'invention concerne un procédé d'amélioration de la viabilité, de la persistance et/ou de la vigueur d'une plante hôte sous la forme de Lolium multiflorum, Lolium xhybridum et Lolium perenne, (herbe hôte) qui comprend l'étape consistant à : inoculer artificiellement à l'herbe hôte une souche RGT18 d'endophyte LpTG-3 ； de sorte que la souche RGT18 d'endophyte LpTG-3 puisse : produire au moins un alcaloïde ou une combinaison d'alcaloïdes qui fournissent à l'herbe hôte un profil d'alcaloïde favorable ； et/ou protéger la plante contre des stress biotiques.
