PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for treatment of infectious waste which can avoid the risk of emitting high-temperature and high-pressure vapor into sewage by passing high-temperature vapor through a vent hole and cooling in a water discharge part of a cooling tank, unlike conventional apparatuses for treatment of infectious waste which have the risk of emitting high-temperature and high-pressure vapor into sewage.SOLUTION: An apparatus 1 for treatment of infectious waste heat-treats a charged object to be boiled by a heater 26 of a boiling tank 21 for boiling the object, namely, infectious waste, transferring the object to a cooling tank 41 arranged adjacently through a transfer pipe 31 and discharges the object from the cooling tank 41 into sewage. A vapor passage 42 communicating with the cooling tank 41 is arranged in the upper part of the boiling tank 21, and a water discharge part 44 which discharges water from a mist nozzle 46 is provided in the vicinity of the vent hole 15 on the side of the cooling tank.
