FIELD: technological processes.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the determination of the adsorption capacity of adsorbents, which are used to purify hydrocarbons from carbonyl sulphide. Method consists in passing the hydrocarbon gas containing carbonyl sulfide through the container, which is filled with the tested adsorbent, in catching carbonyl sulphide after the adsorbent with the ethylenediamine solution, which is further titrated in order to determine the carbonyl sulphide concentration. Adsorption capacity of the adsorbent is determined by the ratio of the mass of the adsorbed carbonyl sulphide, which is calculated from the difference in its amount in the initial hydrocarbon gas and in the hydrocarbon gas, which was passed through the adsorbent, to the mass of the adsorbent.EFFECT: increased accuracy and simplified detection are achieved.1 cl, 2 ex
