PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a patient action detecting device which is a slave unit of a nurse call device, and is equipped with a bar with an electrode for surely detecting action of a patient with a simple structure.SOLUTION: A clip style patient action detecting device includes a clip which is attached to a patient and a bar 100 fitted to it, a bar insert opening 512, and a detection circuit equipped with an electric switch 513 in which a state varies by inserting/removing the bar 100. The clip includes a first pair of electrodes whose conductive/non-conductive state changes according to opening/closing or removal of the clip. The bar includes a second pair of electrodes 101 connected respectively to the first pair of electrodes. In a state where the bar 100 is removed from the bar insert opening 512, the electric switch 513 indicates a first electric state corresponding to "bar missing".
