The present disclosure relates to a system, apparatus and method for assembling a cartridge for an aerosol delivery device. The system may include an assembly carriage each of which includes an assembly track and an assembly carriage that overlies and couples with the components of the partially assembled cartridge. The transfer device can transfer the partially assembled cartridge between the assembly cells. In another exemplary system, the cartridge may be assembled to a platform on a rotating track. The platform may include an assembly gripper with a sequentially open clamp configured to receive the components of the partially assembled cartridge.
