A popper comprises a kettle incorporating a popping chamber one or more inlets for the introduction of an expandable food into said popping chamber the popper further comprising a burner for generating thermal energy, and the popper further comprising a heat exchanger for transferring said thermal energy to the popping chamber and wherein the heat exchanger is configured to space apart the popping chamber from said burner.
