PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antiallergic agent comprising a new antiallergic substance having strong inhibitory actions on liberation of histamine and to provide a food and drink and a cosmetic comprising the antiallergic substance.
SOLUTION: The antiallergic agent comprises cacalol or a derivative thereof as an active ingredient. The food and drink and cosmetic comprise the cacalol or derivative thereof. The food and drink and cosmetic have extremely strong inhibitory actions on the liberation of the histamine and are especially useful for prophylaxis/therapy of atopic dermatitis, allergic rhinitis, pollinosis or allergic asthma, etc., caused by type 1 allergic reaction.
