In a contact lens disinfection system using hydrogen peroxide, the neutralization efficiency of such hydrogen peroxide can be increased, and the amount of metal used in the metal catalyst used can be reduced, thereby advantageously saving resources. It is a solution issue. While the contact lens to be disinfected is immersed in a hydrogen peroxide-containing disinfectant solution having a hydrogen peroxide concentration of 1 to 10%, the hydrogen peroxide present in the disinfectant solution is brought into contact with the metal catalyst to neutralize it. In the contact lens disinfection system, the disinfecting solution contains an organic carboxylic acid having a structure in which a hydroxyl group and a carboxyl group are bonded to one carbon atom or a salt thereof, and the pH of the disinfecting solution is adjusted. It adjusted to 6-8, and also it comprised so that the disinfection liquid after the said neutralization process might have an osmotic pressure of 250-350 mOsm.
