A convertible lawnmower (10) is provided. The lawnmower (10) includes a housing (44) and a mulching system (40). The housing (44) includes a discharge opening (50). The mulching system (40) includes a mounting ring (80) and a shutter ring (82). The mounting ring (80) is coupled substantially concentrically to the housing (44) and includes an upper surface (94), a lower surface (96), and a sidewall (100) that extends substantially axially therebetween. The sidewall (100) is formed with a platform track (130) and at least one installation tab (150). The platform track (130) extends at least partially circumferentially along an inner surface of the sidewall (100) and each installation tab (150) extends axially from the lower surface (96). The shutter ring (82) is coupled to the mounting ring (80) via the platform track (130) such that the shutter ring (82) is selectively shiftable between a mulching mode (84) and a discharge mode (86).
