The present invention provides a method for inhibiting cell growth, a nucleic acid molecule useful as an anticancer agent, and a method for screening a new anticancer agent. In the present invention, an inhibitory effect on the expression of the NEK10 variant gene or an inhibitory effect on the activity of the NEK10 variant protein can be obtained by introducing a nucleic acid molecule having an RNA interference action against the NEK10 variant gene into the cell.
