The present invention relates to in vitro cultured skin tissue, and inparticular to cultured skin tissue comprising exogenous genes encodingangiogenic growth factors. In some embodiments, the keratinocytes expressexogenous angiopoietin-1 or a member of the VEGF family, preferably VEGF-A.
