The present invention relates to an ultrasonic image device capable of imaging an ultrasonic signal and a control method thereof. According to an embodiment of the control method of the ultrasonic image device, the control method of the ultrasonic image device using a two dimensional array probe wherein multiple elements are arranged two-dimensionally comprises: a step of setting so that all elements transmit ultrasonic waves, and to enable a predetermined element among the elements to receive echo ultrasonic waves； a step of determining whether an interested cross section of an object is included in a weak resolution area which is determined according to the setting； a step of transmitting the ultrasonic waves according to the setting if the interested cross section is included in the a resolution weak area, and receiving the echo ultrasonic waves and producing an ultrasonic image for the interested cross section according to a beam forming method corresponding to the concentration of the transmitted ultrasonic waves. According to an aspect of the ultrasonic image device and the control method thereof, an ultrasonic image having a high resolution can be obtained by using a core ray.초음파 신호를 영상화하는 초음파 영상장치 및 그 제어방법에 관한 것이다. 초음파 영상장치의 제어방법의 일 실시예에 따르면, 복수의 엘리먼트(Element)가 2차원으로 배열된 2D 어레이 프로브를 이용하는 초음파 영상장치의 제어방법에 있어서, 상기 복수의 엘리먼트 전부에서 초음파를 송신하고 상기 복수의 엘리먼트 중 미리 정해진 일부에서 에코 초음파를 수신하도록 설정하는 단계； 상기 설정에 따라 결정되는 분해능 취약 영역에 대상체의 관심단면이 포함되는지 결정하는 단계； 및 상기 관심단면이 상기 분해능 취약 영역에 속한다면, 상기 설정에 따라 상기 초음파를 송신하고 상기 에코 초음파를 수신하여, 상기 송신된 초음파의 집속 여부에 대응하는 빔포밍 방법에 따라 상기 관심 단면에 대한 초음파 영상을 생성하는 단계를 포함할 수 있다.
