Disclosed are particulate suspensions comprising pesticide or herbicide particles of at least 110 microns in diameter wherein 90% are less then 250 microns in diameter. The large particle diameter of the pesticide controls the movement of said pesticide through soil and increases the persistence of the compound in a target area to which the compound is applied. In a particular embodiment the pesticide is propyzamide (3,5-Dichloro-N-(1,1-dimethyl-2-propynyl)benzamide).
