PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray CT apparatus capable of highly efficiently acquiring high-resolution projection data in image pickup, and fully utilizing X-ray detecting elements in a small detector size and to provide a control program thereof.SOLUTION: An X-ray CT apparatus includes a collimator, a control means and an X-ray tube. The collimator limits the range in which a subject is irradiated with an X-ray. The X-ray tube has an emitting surface of the X-ray, and is configured so that the size of an effective focal point as the apparent size of the emitting surface when viewing the emitting surface from the side of irradiation of the X-ray is smaller at one end of a cone angle and larger toward another end of the cone angle.
