The present invention provides methods and compositions useful in theregeneration of damaged, lost and/or degenerated tissue in humans and animals.The present invention provides an acellular bioabsorbable tissue regenerationmatrix produced by incubating an acellular blood-derived product for a periodof time sufficient for the matrix to form. Methods of making such a matrix,and methods of using such a matrix for the regeneration of damaged, lostand/or degenerated tissue. In certain embodiments, methods and compositions ofthe present invention are useful in the treatment of damaged, lost and/ordegenerated nerve tissue.
