PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article capable of exhibiting a sufficient absorption performance, improving flexibility of an absorber for facilitating fitting to a wearer, and excellent in a wearing feeling.SOLUTION: An absorbent article 1 of the invention comprises: a skin side sheet 2 a non-skin side sheet 3 and an absorbent core 41 arranged between both the sheets 2, 3. The absorbent core 41 has a second area 41M between a first area 41F on a front section A side and a third area 41R on a rear section C side, and the second area 41M has a high basis weight part 42 having a basis weight higher than that of the first area 41F and the third area 41R. The high basis weight part 42 is shorter than a length of the absorbent core 41 in the vertical direction X, and both side edges 42s thereof along the vertical direction X extend to both side edges 41s of the absorbent core 41.
