The present invention relates to a smart glasses system providing a surgery assist image and a method for providing a surgery assist image using smart glasses. The smart glasses system according to the present invention includes an image processing module, a transparent display portion for image display, a visible ray camera, smart glasses having a glasses communication unit transmitting to the image processing module via wireless communication a visible ray image captured by the visible ray camera, a near infrared camera, and a near infrared imaging module having a module communication unit transmitting to the image processing module a near infrared fluorescent image captured by the near infrared camera module. The image processing module generates a real-time converted fluorescent image by converting in real time the near infrared fluorescent image with respect to at least one of the imaging direction and size of the visible ray image based on the visible ray image and transmits the real-time converted fluorescent image to the smart glasses. The real-time converted fluorescent image received through the glasses communication unit is displayed in the transparent display portion of the smart glasses. Then, the real-time converted fluorescent image is overlapped in the view of an operating surgeon wearing the smart glasses.
