Disclosed is a method for extracting an effective image region and, more specifically, to a method for extracting an effective image region in an ultrasonic image capable of processing an ultrasonic image outputted from a medical diagnosis device and a system thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the present invention determines a movement block with regard to an original ultrasound image including one or more images and meta information, determines a layout, filters the block, determines a region of interest, and extracts an image region through an image region determination process so as to have an effect of analyzing the images and efficiently performing a three-dimensional rendering work.본 발명은 이미지 영역을 추출하는 방법을 개시한다. 보다 상세하게는, 의료 진단 기기로부터 출력되는 초음파 영상을 가공할 수 있도록 그 영상 내 유효 이미지 영역의 추출 방법 및 시스템에 관한 것이다.본 발명의 실시예에 따르면, 하나 이상의 영상 및 메타정보를 포함하는 원 초음파 영상에 대하여, 움직임 블록을 판단하고, 레이아웃 판별, 블록 필터링, 관심영역 판단 및 영상영역 판단 과정을 거쳐 영상영역을 추출함으로써, 영상을 분석하고 3D 렌더링 작업을 효율적으로 수행할 수 있는 효과가 있다.
