A bait container (300), comprising a body (302) with an upper end portion (330) opposite a lower end portion (340) and a chamber (240) within the body for holding a bait the upper end portion being configured to engage with a closure (90), the closure being engaged by threading to the body, the lower end portion including a lower edge (400) defined by the bottom terminus (401) of the container and a setback member (379) in the form of a partition (380) wherein, the lower edge defines a lower end opening (405) the partition defines the lower boundary (378) for bait within the chamber and the partition includes a plurality of openings (390) intersecting the chamber, structured to facilitate access of subterranean termites to the bait.
