The present invention provides an improved protective sleeve comprising a character decoration for a cast worn by an individual, comprising: (a) a tubular sleeve with an opening at each end made of a stretch, fabric material for covering a cast (b) a three-dimensional character head securely sewn to the tubular sleeve using a zigzag stitch and (c) at least two three-dimensional character appendages securely sewn to the tubular sleeve using a zigzag stitch such that the character decoration looks similar to a stuff animal, plush toy or doll. The individual is preferably a frightened child.
