The present invention relates to the general field of treatment of mammalian (human and animal) infections caused by bacteria, and in particular to the treatment of diseases such as tuberculosis (TB), mycobacterial brucell ulcers and leprosy. The present invention is directed to the production of a series of new benzothiazinone compounds that have the potential to overcome the above problems.
