PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synthetic resin-made wheel for wheelchair by which a pneumatic tire is hardly punctured, and a method for production thereof.SOLUTION: A synthetic resin-made wheel 1 has such a configuration that peripheral protrusions 13 protruding to the inside of a mounting groove 15 are formed to a pair of rim flanges 11 composing a mounting groove 15 on which a pneumatic tire is mounted. According to such a synthetic resin-made wheel 1, the tire is hardly punctured even if the tire twists in turnaround of a wheelchair. Such a synthetic resin-made wheel 1 is produced by molding the mounting groove 15 using a divided peripheral mold comprising a core mold and the side molds arranged at both sides thereof. After the synthetic resin in a cavity hardens, the core mold is moved to be evacuated, and based on this, the side molds are moved to be evacuated while approximating each other. Thereby, the synthetic resin-made wheel 1 can be stably produced.
