PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce deterioration in color reproducibility caused by chromatic aberration of an optical system in a light source device for endoscopes.SOLUTION: The light source device includes: a lamp 250A for emitting illumination light averaging means 255A diffusively reflecting the illumination light to average spectral distribution and intensity distribution and a condensing optical system 256 condensing the illumination light exiting from the averaging means 255A and guiding it to a light guide of an endoscope.
