PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate for forming a membrane connective tissue having sufficient thickness and strength, and a method for manufacturing a membrane connective tissue using the same.SOLUTION: A connective tissue formation part 2 is arranged on the surface of a substrate. A thickness growth accelerating part 3 is arranged around the connective tissue formation part 2, so that a substrate 1 for forming a membrane connective tissue is enlarged as a whole. The substrate 1 for forming a membrane connective tissue is disposed in an environment in which biological tissue material is present, so that a membrane connective tissue is formed on the surface of the substrate. Corresponding to the enlargement of the substrate 1 for forming a membrane connective tissue, the thickness of the membrane connective tissue is increased. A surplus portion of the membrane tissue formed on the surface of the thickness growth accelerating part 3 is removed.
