A method for detecting the center of a pupil is disclosed. The method according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises the following steps: receiving an image obtained by photographing an eye region of a user； selecting pixels included in a central region of the image photographed by the eye region； calculating an average value of brightness values of pixels adjacent to each other among pixels included in the central region, and converting the mutually adjacent pixels into one pixel having the average value as a brightness value； comparing the brightness value of the converted pixels with a preset threshold value to binarize the converted pixels to generate a binarized image； detecting a row including the uppermost pixel among pixels corresponding to the pupil in the binarized image； and correcting the position of the central region such that the pupil is positioned at the center in the image obtained by photographing the eye region of the user as position information of the row including the uppermost pixel among the pixels corresponding to the pupil.동공 중심 검출 방법이 개시된다. 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 동공 중심 검출 방법은, 사용자의 눈 영역을 촬영한 이미지를 수신하는 단계, 상기 눈 영역을 촬영한 이미지의 중앙 영역에 포함된 픽셀들을 선택하는 단계, 상기 중앙 영역에 포함된 픽셀들 중 상호 인접한 복수의 픽셀들의 밝기값들의 평균값을 산출하여, 상기 상호 인접한 복수의 픽셀들을 상기 평균값을 밝기값으로 갖는 하나의 픽셀로 변환하는 단계, 상기 변환된 픽셀들의 밝기값과 기 설정된 임계값을 비교하여 상기 변환된 픽셀들을 이진화하여 이진화된 이미지를 생성하는 단계, 상기 이진화된 이미지에서 동공에 해당되는 픽셀 중 최상단에 위치하는 픽셀이 포함된 행을 검출하는 단계 및 상기 동공에 해당되는 픽셀 중 최상단에 위치하는 픽셀이 포함된 행의 위치 정보로, 상기 사용자의 눈 영역을 촬영한 이미지에서 동공이 중앙에 위치하도록 상기 중앙 영역의 위치를 보정하는 단계를 포함한다.
