PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To authenticate a user without changing a present style of an apparatus main body without regard to the present style of the apparatus main body and without changing a direction of inputting fingerprint data in a portable terminal apparatus where the apparatus main body can be changed to two or more styles by changing an arranging state of a casing of a display part and a casing of an operation part.
SOLUTION: When fingerprint image data are inputted from a fingerprint sensor 15 for releasing restriction of use, a CPU 1 changes the direction of registered fingerprint image data registered in a memory 21 of registered fingerprint data for collation according to the present style detected by a style detection sensor 18, and collates the changed registered fingerprint image data with the inputted fingerprint image data. As the result of this, when the user is authenticated to be a legal user, the CPU 1 releases the restriction of use.
