Disclosed are an antibacterial synthetic fiber, and a method for manufacturing the same, characterized in that one or more antibacterial plant extracts are mixed with a fiber-formable polymer and the mixture is melt spun at 200~300℃. The antibacterial synthetic fiber exhibits excellent and persistent antibacterial activity.
