FIELD: medicine.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine. Implant for restoration of intervertebral disks is made in the form of a straight cylinder, the bases of which have a shape corresponding to the longitudinal section of the bullet, which on one side has a sharpening, on the other side flattening and intermediate sections between them. Straight cylinder has a plane of symmetry that runs perpendicular to the bases of the cylinder. Flattening side has a threaded hole for fixing the implant with a tool for its installation, lying in the symmetry plane at equal distances from the bases and parallel to them. Implant is made of a carbon-carbon composite material containing a carbon matrix and a reinforcing carcass of carbon fibers, with a porosity of 5–20 %. Slots 1–2 mm wide and 1–2 mm deep, perpendicular to the base, are opposed to each other on the cylindrical surface, in the areas located between the point and the flattening. There are two grooves 3–8 mm wide on the bases on the side of the flattening section, at the same distances from the hole and along it. Said hole has a thread depth of 6–12 mm. instrument for mounting the above implant includes a hollow cylindrical body having, at one end, two locks located at a distance allowing the implant to be positioned between them, and an inner cylindrical rod disposed within the housing and having at one end an external thread corresponding to the internal thread in the implant and at the other end a cylindrical base with a diameter greater than the inner opening of the housing. Length of the rod from the cylindrical base to the base of the thread is equal to the length of the body without fasteners.
