The Early Mortality Syndrome or Acute Hepatopancreatic Necrosis Disease has caused declines in the production of white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) worldwide. The disease is caused by a Vibrio genus bacterium (Vibrio parahaemolyticus) so, as an alternative to the use of antibiotics to control the same, the present invention proposes the use of silver nanoparticles synthesized with Rumex hymenosepalus extract. The concentration of 25 ug/ml was chosen for the nanoparticles and of 220 ug/ml for the extract, as the most effective. In the performed tests, its toxicity was evaluated on Artemia franciscana nauplii and were used as a vector of silver nanoparticles and extract towards post-larvae of L. vannamei in challenges with the bacteria. The results showed greater survival of the treated shrimp than the control group.El Síndrome de Mortalidad Temprana o Síndrome de Necrosis Hepatopancreatica aguda ha provocado bajas en la producción de camarón blanco (Litopenaeus vannamei) a nivel mundial. La enfermedad es producida por una bacteria del genero Vibrio (Vibrio parahaemolyticus) por lo que, como una alternativa al uso de antibióticos para su control, en la presente invención se plantea el uso de nanopartículas de plata sintetizadas con extracto Rumex hymenosepalus. Se eligió la concentración de 25 ug/ml para las nanopartículas y de 220 ug/ml para el extracto como las más efectivas, en las pruebas realizadas se evaluó su toxicidad sobre nauplios de Artemia franciscana y se usaron como vector de nanopartículas de plata y extracto hacia postlarvas de L. vannamei en retos con la bacteria. Los resultados mostraron mayor sobrevivencia de los camarones tratados que el grupo control.
